Weaning off dummy

My little boy finds comfort in having a dummy when tired/falling asleep but I have been wanting to wean him off of them for a very long time now for quite a few reasons. We’ve ditched it during the day except for naps but I’d love to get rid of it altogether. I think he’s too young to understand the dummy fairy or putting them in bears etc but I know there are other ways to go about this. If you’ve weaned your LO off the dummy please tell me what worked best for you! Thank you!

We just went cold Turkey, I hid the dummies and then chucked them out the next day. Had maybe two nights where she was tougher to get to sleep but once asleep she slept better than with the dummy. After maybe 4 nights she stopped asking for or looking for the dummy altogether and she never asked for it for naps after that first night. Same with nursery she napped fine without I think there was once where she took another baby’s dummy out of their mouth haha but apart from that she wasn’t bothered. Worked really well and so pleased we did it! Good luck with it, whatever way you choose!

My son bit a hole in his last one and I decided I wasn't buying anymore so he just went cold turkey. We never weaned him off in the day to begin with either, just put it in the bin and that was that. Honestly the first night was hell but since then he's not missed it. His little brother has one and he's stole it a few times but when it comes to sleep it's like he never had one to begin with

We went cold turkey too, it was brutal to begin with but after about 2/3 days he forgot about it completely :)

Cold turkey here too, did it when he turned 12 months. It was difficult to put him to sleep for about 2 days. Then forgot about it, never asked for it ever again.
