Brushing teeth & weaning off bottles

Ok so I have a bit of a two part question- 1. My baby is still drinking whole milk out of a bottle before his nap and before bed- it puts him right to sleep. He is a pro at a straw with water but will not do milk from it! Should I try a sippy cup? Who had this struggle? 2. When he’s asleep, it’s so hard to brush teeth after - it takes him forever to get settled again for bedtime. How are you guys doing it?

Same! We cut daytime bottles and she only gets a bottle at night. We brush her teeth after dinner and bath time but she drinks milk after brushing her teeth to go to sleep. It is what it is right now but were working on slowly weaning bedtime bottle.

Try a sippy cup for nap time and then once he gets use to the sippy cup use it for bed time. I brush my sons teeth before he goes to bed and my son isn't drinking milk at bed time or nap (he doesn't like any milk so I'm supplementing with foods) I've noticed making changes for nap time first is easier on you

We still give my son milk before bed too. We do milk and then brush teeth and then bed. The first maybe two weeks of us doing that we would just watch and when he’d get sleepy with the milk and stop and immediately go to brush teeth and then put him in his bed. We paired it with sleep training when we transitioned and we started using a straw cup for it a couple weeks ago and it seems to make him not want as much milk

my daughter used to drink milk before bed but has stopped & doenst drink milk at all but before she did we used the walmart colorful sippy cups & it wasnt a hard transition she easily adapted but we brush her teeth before bed

Same my daughter brushes teeth but then drinks milk after that for night time sleep. I tried many times to brush teeth after she finishes her bottle but it always ended up in her not being sleepy and fussy and not wanting to go to bed. For now we brush her teeth she tales her bottle and falls asleep. Maybe someday we will get to the point where she wont need a bottle or will let us brush her teeth after the bottle 😂

I replaced his night bottle with water after his teeth were brushed. Now he just drinks water from his bottles and only has milk at meals

We cut the nighttime bottle, which was the last bottle we had going, at 15 months. It’s been a rough few days. He won’t drink milk at all out of the straw cup, so we’ll likely just switch to water. I asked the pediatrician about using a sippy just for that bedtime bottle and he said milk should only be at mealtimes anyway, so to just stick to the straw cups or open cups.
