I had an episiotomy with my first. The stitches were dissolvable and the healing process was pretty quick. I just left it to it, I believe I didn’t bath for 2 weeks and just showered. I didn’t have sex until I felt ready which was inline with the 6 weeks recovery for having a baby anyway. Good luck! X

Congratulations 🥰 I had an episiotomy with my first and unfortunately it got infected so recovery was long for me. The advice I got was after a shower just try and let it air dry for a bit with a dark towel under you, I can’t remember whether they said I could bath or not. Spritz for bits was fab. And the thought of sex horrified me so can’t help there 🤣

Congratulations! I had an episiotomy with my first, sadly I also got an infection . The stitches dissolved on their own and when I went for my check with my GP they had a look to check all the healing for me (I think that’s standard but could be because of the infection) I just showered and found a peri bottle helpful after the toilet. Also spritz for bits and a donut style cushion to take pressure off when sitting. Bleeding after birth varies from person to person, I think I bled for quite a few weeks from memory but then when it stopped my periods didn’t come back until about 10 momths PP as I was breastfeeding. Sex wise I wasn’t ready for a long time but I think they advise waiting until at least 6 week sign off especially with an episiotomy x

I didn’t have an episiotomy but I did have a second degree tear and stitches in various places. Showers and a peri bottle helped me. I think it took about 3 weeks for the stitches to heal properly. I bled for about 5 weeks pp. They recommend not having sex for at least 6 weeks after birth due to the risk of infection.

My first was also 3 weeks early and had an episiotomy. This was a while ago but I remember I stuck to showers. Not sure how long the bleeding from stitches lasted but my PP bleeding was about 7 weeks and then I got my period straight after (even though I was breastfeeding!). The stitches dissolved and I had no pain or discomfort, was too scared to look down there for a few weeks but everything healed well and I had a really positive episiotomy experience I would say. Any pain, discomfort, tightness etc I would definitely get it seen asap, otherwise best of luck with recovery!
