Sleep

Hey all, can anyone please give any advice on how to get my baby (almost 8months) to sleep more at night!! She’s waking every couple of hours for milk and if I don’t give milk then she won’t go back to sleep however, I fear im making this worse for myself giving milk every time. Any tips or advice welcome please xx

Following! In the same boat xx

Same! I'm gnna wait for another month or so as there's a sleep regression around now but then I might try reducing feeds slowly. So like only feed if its after midnight, then 1am, then 2am slowly though. Or something people say you can reduce the volume of the feed slowly until you end up with nothing x

I also heard that if you replace the milk for water they will eventually stop wanting it so will stay asleep longer x

I tried the water thing last night, was a disaster haha! They just wouldn’t sleep with it. One twin was awake for so long until I caved and just gave milk. It’s so difficult xx

This was me. My baby now only wakes for one feed which I want to keep for a while. I used Sleep well with Hannah. Find her on insta. She taught us to use a very gentle, intuitive approach to weaning those night feeds. Her course just requires you to watch the videos and it’s not expansive! I put off doing it and then only took 1 night of training for our little one. Can’t rate her enough xx

@Charlotte hey, I've seen lots of things online where you can buy videos or advice to help little ones sleep but worry it won't work 🫣 was your little one up every hour before? We're you sceptical?

@Jord I totally get that and I really put it off too. But I wish I’d done it as soon as she was old enough. She didn’t wake every hour but every 2-3. It isn’t healthy for your baby to be waking that much and it isn’t good for them. That’s what I kept reminding myself. What’s the worst that could happen? It can’t get any worse and Hannah will have a way to help you. My little one is so much happier now she sleeps anywhere between 6-10 hours on her own. And it really only took 2 sessions of training xx

We've found cosleeping good for this, they feel more secure that way I guess
