Waking at night

Please tell me I'm not the only one whose baby is still waking every 2/3 hrs. Been the same since 4 months with slightly better and slightly worse periods. She's done one night in 9 months wheres she's only woken twice! Feels like everyone else's babies sleep longer stretches and you can't help feeling you are doing something wrong. I don't want to sleep train and she naps well in the day and is generally happy. I've tried short naps I've tried long naps I've tried moving bedtime. Nothing works and I've decided she just isn't a sleeper at this point!

We're in the same boat! Only had one night where she woke once. Last night she woke 3 times and then was up at 5am. I'm sooo tired 😴

Exactly the same here, he still wakes every night for a bottle or a cuddle! Some nights are better than others but you’re definitely not alone x

Same here, now we’re back to 45min stretches even! I never know why it is but he’s never been a great sleeper and it just got worse with teething

I really feel for you because there’s nothing worse than sleep deprivation - it makes you feel mental. The thing is, if you’re not willing to let your baby sleep independently, this is going go on indefinitely. There’s lots of good techniques that don’t involve leaving your baby to cry - you basically just need to slowly remove some of the crutches she’s become dependent on so that when she does wake in the night (which is normal - we all wake when we go in and out of sleep cycles) that she can put herself back to sleep. It’s only training in the sense that you are teaching them a new skill. Honestly, better to do it now than further down the line when it will be much harder. You also need to work out her 24hr sleep need, calculate naps around it and be super strict. Check out Precious Little Sleep, it’s full of great advice for parents who want to gently (and not so gently) teach their babies how to sleep.

🙋‍♀️

@Sharon this doesn’t always work my little boy goes to sleep independently but he still wakes often for numerous reasons. Where as my daughter that needed help falling asleep used to sleep through the night 🤣 x
