After birth help!

I’m wondering on how quick it to you to recover after birth n what birth you had as me and my partner are planing to go see family but they live 7 hours away, so I don’t want to get my hopes up of seeing them ASAP as not sure how long it could be till I feel okay I am hoping to have natural or water birth🤍

I had a 2nd degree tear, I started sitting and walking normal after 5ish weeks lol so I persinally wouldn't plan a road trip till after a month minimum, if I were you Id ideally ask for people to come to me lol. Plus traveling with a newborn that long of road trip you will be stopping a lot!

I had natural birth and 1st degree tear, I’d say wait at least 2-3 weeks pp for travel because sitting for long periods of time isn’t fun right after birth

i had an unmedicated birth and the first 2 weeks were rough. healing from stitches, i had bad tailbone pain that made it hurt to sit, painful boobs, trying to figure out breastfeeding, bleeding etc. plus the fact those first few weeks with your baby are so special and short lived, personally i wouldn’t travel to see anyone for a month minimum

Natural birth & 4th degree tear.. still healing (6weeks pp)

Natural birth, It took a while for me to comfortably sit in the car for more than 30mins also the baby might wanna stretch and feed quite often while travelling. I did a 1hr 30min drive to visit family, 3 mths pp and had to stop 3times to feed the baby.

I had a 1st degree tear and a medicated birth, we didn’t really leave the house for more than a small walk for a couple weeks. Would definitely recommend giving yourself a month if only to give yourself time to figure out your new normal. Even if you are feeling great there’s a huge life adjustment!

I had a 2nd degree tear, was walking to KFC by day 2, the more you get up and moving the better I would say. However I wouldn’t travel 7 hours x

I wasn’t ready to do much for 6 weeks (natural birth, 2nd degree tear) I wasn’t ready to travel anywhere for about 3 months (mainly due to sleep deprivation). It also depends on how you would get there. I found trains the most manageable as you can entertain & feed the baby as normal. 7 hours in a car would have been really difficult, as you’d need to stop all the time etc and airports can be slightly overwhelming early on.

I had a vaginal birth with episiotomy so stitches etc and I was fine after a few days. Didn’t have any issues however I still wouldn’t have wanted to travel for 7 hours!

I had a c section and was good after 1 week of recovery but it’s hard traveling with a newborn! I’d wait until 6 weeks xx

I had a natural birth 2nd degree tear and episiotomy and would’ve been physically fine for the road trip the same day but mentally I definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it with a newborn for a long while even now my little boys 7 months i still wouldn’t attempt it especially because of the time limit on how long babies can be in car seats, is there no way they can come to you x
