Burping breastfed baby

Mixed advice on whether I should be burping my breastfed baby? A HV said today to trial without as it just seems to annoy my little one more after a feed and when she’s fallen asleep?

Following! I do burp mine and it does work but if he’s fully out of it after a feed I’ll do a few gentle taps but it’s pointless and he’s so asleep 🤣

Every time I burp my 4 week old breastfed baby she gives me a big burp and will settle so much better. During the night I admit I forget a lot cos I’m knackered and sometimes she has wind the next morning and seems uncomfortable so I try burp everytime!

My EBF daughter (now 4) really needed it, but my April baby can often go without, and sometimes manages to burp on his own. Other times he does need it, but he gives quite clear signals of a particular cry and a wriggly uncomfy body when he does

I rarely do. She seems totally fine without

I was speaking to a breastfeeding support person today and they said not all babies need burping because there isn't air in your boobs like in bottles, but if they don't latch correctly then they could be taking in air. So it all depends on the baby I suppose. Try without, you will soon know if they become uncomfortable and need burping afterwards

My first didn't burp, he was EBF, my second we burp after every feed, he's breastfed and bottle fed pumped milk

How to wind baby effectively? Im exclusively BF and have a little one who needs to but I cant manage to get the burps out 🥺

YouTube helped me massively for burping tactics! My baby is EBF but does need burping, he gets frustrated without and it was really hard to get any up at first, but found some great burping tricks on YouTube 😁

My little one struggles with wind so I always burp x
