Potty training

Anybody started potty training? What’s your experiences so far? 😅 We had a go this afternoon and little monkey had four accidents in 1 hour & 30 minutes…. She was happy to go onto the toilet but didn’t do any wee’s or 💩on there, then a couple of minutes after coming off would do a wee 🫠 I’m not sure if that’s a normal amount or maybe shows that she’s not ready yet? Thoughts please 😁

Does she tell you when she has weed or pood in a nappy? My lo can go hours without an accident or have 4 in an hour, depends what they're doing, and just a case of reminding them, asking if they need a wee or poo when you see them holding themselves... And taking them to the potty still even when they've had an accident. I use reusable training pants so they feel the wet but it holds it like a nappy x

I had the SAME experience on her first day 😭 I started potty training my LO a week ago and on day one she had about 11 accidents. But she was having less and less accidents as the days went on 🙌🏽. For example today she’s only had one accident so it will definitely get better ❤️😭

@Hannah She has been touching her nappy and making like a ‘oh’ sound which I think she was doing when she did a wee. She’s really happy with sitting on the toilet so maybe I need to keep at it and hope she might make the link

@Salma Aww it’s so hard isn’t it! How long did it take for her to go for a wee on the potty? I might try again tomorrow and hopefully if she goes on the potty she might start to get it a bit. Just was a bit worried as she didn’t go for a wee at all on the toilet

Once you start consistency is key I think. Just make sure your prepared for lots of changes. X

@Hannah What training pants are you using?

Honestly it took her a good three days to understand that she needs to do a wee in the toilet 🥲 But definitely keep going if you can 💪🏽 she’ll get the hang of it

It definitely takes time! We followed the Oh Crap method and started at 18 months. He just turned 2 and is 99.5% potty trained during the day and for nap. Just working on nighttime now

I’m waiting until she is 2 and a half, they are more switched on at that age and it works much quicker in my experience with my older 2. Good luck though
