In all honesty the staying naked method I really don’t think is a great one . I don’t think it’s nice for the kids and certainly not at day care. I started with my son toilet training on Saturday, he was put in underwear and trouser strait away Saturday - Monday we went to the park, had some time at home, went on short journeys , then he’s been at nursey Tuesday - today . In total he has had 3 accidents . Put clothes on your child and let them learn with them otherwise you’ll have to teach all over again ….
Thanks ladies! To be clear, she is not naked. She is wearing pants without underwear beneath. I would not have her leave the house without bottoms on
Send her in underwear to daycare and send LOTS of spare clothes. The first day at daycare after potty training my 28 month old, I sent 7 extra pairs of underwear and pants. She had, I think 2 or 3 accidents that whole first week
@Charlotte thanks Charlotte! How long did it take for her to stop having accidents?
@Sachiko She's been fully daytime trained for over 2 months now. She has the occasional accident still, but maybe one every week or 2
@Charlotte that seems manageable. I am at my wits end, every little thing is a fight right now and I want to die
@Sachiko Been there. She was in pull ups for 6 months before we finally had time to do a naked weekend and I made it a priority to find time for a naked weekend because I was at my wits end with the potty fights
I've used this book wholeheartedly! And it works. After the 4 days at home, I sent my daughter without undies under her pants. The only thing was our daycare was so supportive about where she was and was okay with not wearing undies. I didn't wanna start her in undies until we moved forward with it at home. I hope you can try to advocate for your daughter's learning at the moment though, if you can. But great job pushing through the book method! Many, many people give up!
I've always sent my son with underwear at nursery when potty training. Put many spares changes and you'll be fine!
