Why do people kiss babies?!

I’m absolutely losing my mind my grandmother so my daughter‘s great grandmother just got home from Florida and it was her first time meeting my daughter and she was kissing her all over her hands and her cheeks and head. Meanwhile it looks like she either has a sun blister on her lip or a cold sore and I’m absolutely spiraling. I feel like such a terrible mother for not standing up for her, especially if something were to happen to my daughter. I feel even more guilt. My daughter is 3 months 2 weeks.

I Completely understand where you are coming from. For me I would set boundary’s and if she doesn’t understand than her lose she can’t hold baby or kiss baby she can see baby but no longer watch her or hold her. I told my family that. For the first 3 months till she had her shots. Off topic my daughter is also 3 months and 11 days!

Just happened to me too… husbands gma though. I told him he needs to say something next time. They also wouldn’t quiet down for her nap and were surprised when she woke up in 15 min

Oh hell no, I would freak out. That's our number 1 rule with our baby is no kisses. Who knows, though you may set that boundary, but some people will still kiss your baby behind your back

@Karissa I have set boundaries and still is done behind my back … I gave up and now I feel horrible

Ugh my FIL did this on his mouth and me, my husband, my MIL, my parents. And our best friends all saw/said something and he tried saying he didn’t, then tried again next night when he thought no one would notice. I told him no/he’s a newborn and he said “I’ll just wait till he’s older” and I straight up said “you will never kiss him what is wrong with you😂”.. like no why do you feel the need to kiss him on the LIPS🤯🤢

@Brooke gross.

I don’t understand it. I have never once had the urge to kiss someone else’s baby
