Potty Training a boy..

I need advice yall.. We tried to potty train my son when he was 2.5 years old using the three day method where you switch straight to underwear and I was also pregnant.. what I was thinking smh.. total 💩show literally lol.. (i also used incentives like he can drink all the juice he wants and he got a sticker every time he did something in that potty and enough stickers he would get a prize) but that lasted for a day and a half before we gave up.. now that he’s 3 we are going to start again.. any advice?

M&Ms one for trying 2 for going pee poop 3 it worked for mine

Hi, I was in the same position with my 2.5 year old, I’m also pregnant and wanted to avoid 2 lots of nappies when the new baby comes! We found my son lost interest in stickers quite quickly. We went out and bought a potty that he got to choose and got a bag of special potty toys that it could only play with when he was sat on the potty. A magnetic fishing game was the best as it kept him distracted long enough to do a wee while he was sat there! I encouraged him to decorate his potty with stickers so he could show it off to his friends at nursery and just hibernated at home over a long weekend with 45 min timers to encourage him to sit on the potty. He cracked it in a week or so, still having the odd accident but is happy to sit on his potty now and sometimes asks to go. Also lots of story books about potty training and pirate Pete’s potty on YouTube was a winner, I hope this helps, good luck! You’ve got this!

My mother-in-law put Cheerios in the toilet and have my husband try to hit the cheerio and when he did they had a little party or a movie night. Lmfao

The 3 day method worked a treat for us! Solely focused on toilet training no leaving the house. Started off with no pants for the first few days and then introduced pants on about day 4/5. It was long and tedious getting it right the first 2 days but now two weeks later he’s using the toilet perfectly. Also we skipped using a potty, we got a seat with step attached that takes him straight to using the toilet - kinda skips a step of having to teach from potty to toilet again :)

I did the exact same as Laura above. He’s 21 months and been using the toilet for 2 months. No potty just straight on the toilet. 3 days. No nappy or pants in the house. Followed his ques. Followed natural times and would put him on the toilet before and after naps, after waking in the morning, after a big drink

i saw a tiktok say bubbles help, and a stool/seat combo so they can use the same toilet we do in a mimic way, but blowing bubbles will release the muscles used for pottying

Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It sounds like you had a challenging experience, and it's completely normal for potty training to take time, especially with everything else going on. Since you're starting again, I recommend two key strategies: 1. Create a Routine: Establish regular times for potty breaks, such as after meals or before bed. This helps your son understand when to expect to use the potty. 2. Positive Reinforcement: Continue using incentives, but consider simplifying them. Instead of juice, which can lead to more accidents, try small rewards like stickers or extra playtime for successful attempts. Make sure to stay patient and encouraging, as every child learns at their own pace. How does your son feel about using the potty now that he's a bit older?"
