I feel like I’m suffocating

me and my partner have been living with my mom until we can get out of the financial situation we are in. she’s sucking us dry of the little money we have every month. I feel so overwhelmed all I can do is cry. I’m so depressed and feel tired 24/7.. I hate living like this.

Have you told her that her taking most of your money is preventing yous from moving out ?

@Sandra she doesn’t care. shes really bad with money and takes from everyone around her. if I refuse or try to have a conversation my housing could be on the line.

yes i understand , it is a very difficult situation 😕

I can just imagine how difficult this situation must be for you, and you can cry everyday, but pull yourself together and try to stop crying so you brain can think more clearly. This is a challenging situation, all you can do is accept her bad behavior and put up with her with no tears, try to save up any dimes and nickel you and your partner have, no eating out, no make up, no new clothing,... for few months until you can afford another place, even a small place wit one bedroom might work. My ex mil was a Monster, oh God. She was bitter and cheap ;/ When you accept your current situation with no or less crying, you will find a way out. Sometimes we have to put our life on hold and freeze any fun, until we have some saved up and we can move on to a better life situation. Remember, this is only temporary, You will get through this ❤️

@Leyla Great advice 😊

@Leyla Honestly I have to disagree. Unfortunately in this country and many capitalist ran countries, we’re taught that money is the goal. We work out lives away and miss our child’s first moments all to barely afford the necessities. It’s not right and the answer isn’t “just put your fun life on hold” until you have money. What kind of life is that? They’ve conditioned us to think this is normal but in many other countries our work load and lack of work life balance is a shock! To the original poster, I suggest looking into state/federal benefits. you probably qualify for WIC, EBT, and insurance. I’d also look into a different living situation. If you’re paying rent at your mom’s anyways, why not pay rent somewhere else? At least you’d have your own place and not be at the whim of your mom. Hang in there girl you’ve got this❤️
