I did frozen. My retrieval was in December and I just did my transfer a couple weeks ago. I’m 5 weeks pregnant! 🤗

Congrats! Was your transfer postponed because of the pandemic? The clinic im thinking of using (I’m still kinda ify about traveling for my ivf) says that they have a higher success rate of frozen but it is totally up too me. I’m like uhhh lol...

Thank you!! Yes it was postponed. I have heard higher success rates for frozen. My dr never gave me the option. She wanted time for my body to rest. Initially after my retrieval in December, my rest month was January and a transfer in February but I started a new job and had to hold off.

Frozen, to avoid OHSS

Good tip - never knew that frozen will/would be better. I was about to start my treatment as i had all my meds delivered in March just before lockdown!

Jenny- That’s a good point! I did read about!

Hi I have my egg collection tomorrow and I need to do freeze all because I’m so high risk of OHSS Plus I think it give your body a little rest from all the injections etc! I am sooo nervous for tomorrow! When do you think you will starting? Have you heard anything? I have to travel nearly 2 hours to London it’s costing £38 ever time That’s not including petrol But hopefully all worth it xx

Thank you will let you know how I go Wow! 2 hour plane ride away that’s defo further than I have to go I think mine was bad bless you! You need to go with what you thinks best it’s such a special hard process to go through so you need to feel comfortable and it’s a lot of money so you go to the one you thinks best x x

Good luck!!! We are looking to start in July!! I do like the idea of giving my body a break! But I’m still torn between which clinic to pick. The one I really like is 2hr plane ride away 😩

@Fazzy so are doing frozen?

I think it will be, or maybe fresh i am not too sure. I will need to double check again! 🙈

Lol see that’s i how feel😂 I just wanna make the best decision!

Congratulations

Have you all had your AMH test done and had the results? X

Yes...my amh is low. They want me to take supplements & some type of injectables I can’t remember the name.

If you’re interesting in doing genetic testing, frozen is your only option because you need time for the test results to come back. It does add to the cost but it gives you peace of mind that the embryo you’re transferring has the best chance of success

I do plan on doing genetic testing. At first I wasn’t but I read more on it & decided it makes more sense. Did you do it?

I did. Currently 5 weeks pregnant and just hoping to hear that heartbeat in two weeks.

I’ll be doing a frozen transfer when the time comes as we plan on doing the testing to make sure the embryos are 100% healthy. When you do the testing the embryos transferred have to be frozen from what my doctor explained to me.

When do you start?

I’m still in the process of getting tests done, so starting won’t be for another two or three months. Which I’m okay with.

I’m planning to do a fresh next week! My insurance is weird and will count a frozen as a completely separate round, where as a fresh gets lumped together with my retrieval. I also am eager to transfer and don’t want to have to wait another month!

Thanks you too!

Good luck too!!! Baby dust ❤️

I had my retrieval last week & will be doing a frozen transfer in July! I was at high risk for OHSS—& absolutely got it—& couldn’t imagine having done a fresh transfer. It definitely knocked me out for a few days & I needed all of the Tylenol & ibuprofen I could take! I’ve also just hear frozen has a higher success rate! 🤞🏼

I got a mild case of OHSS too. Glad I didn’t have my heart set on a fresh transfer because that definitely would not have happened. I hear more success stories from frozen transfers, I think our bodies need time to heal. But of course there are lots of success stories from fresh, but I think frozen puts the odds in your favor. Patience is something I lack, so the wait is not fun!

Yay congratulations I am in a lot of pain the last few days I am so worried about today! How did it go how many eggs and embryos did they get Sorry your got it! xx

I would've loved to have done a fresh transfer but had mild ohss. I finally have my frozen transfer tomorrow. If it doesn't work I will try to get another fresh cycle done before using my other frozen embryos

So what was your reason on wanting to do fresh transfer?

I don't know really. Just felt more right for me. I know some people work better with fresh and others with frozen. It's probably completely nonsensical. Especially as evidence shows there is very little difference and if anything your body is in a better place with frozen.
