Postpartum

I’m almost 4 weeks postpartum and keep feeling emotional and persistent sadness just with everyday things. Are these the baby blues? I love being a new mom, but I didn’t expect these emotions to hit me like a train like they did. A lot of ups and downs and me being too hard on myself. Any advice with coping with th...

11 month regression?

Is there an 11 month regression? When my daughter turned 10 months we experienced 1-2 weeks of disturbed sleep, lots of crying and refusing to nap.. we finally got into a routine again with sleep and naps and the past three nights we’ve really struggled with her sleep again. She’s been waking up at midnight / 1am ev...

To pump or not

So randomly my breasts will get so so full and rock hard, my baby doesn't need feeding at that time and she's not hungry so won't latch, would a pump be good for this to help get rid of some milk/pressure? But then will it then cause my body to produce more milk and make the problem worse?

Colostrum

3rd baby but I’ve only ever formula fed so this is completely new to me! I decided to have a play with my pump (- I’m choosing to express and bottle feed for personal/medical reasons.) and I ended up with 60ml in the 10min session. Google says you shouldn’t get more than a tea spoon in one go - so is this not co...

Can I breast and formula feed?

I’d like to do both for different reasons, can these be done at the same time? For example morning feed might be breast then a few hours later formula/bottle? Would I still have to pump to get rid of my milk?

Colostrum HELP!

Has anyone with large breasts found it impossible to collect colostrum? (I had FF's before I was pregnant, God only knows what they are now). I've leaked colostrum every night whilst I've slept for months now. I've just tried to collect it for the first time this evening and it's impossible. I feel like it's made h...

Constant grunting/whining

My almost 7 month old has been grunting/whinging for almost constantly for 4 months now. It is driving me mad. It seems like she does it when she’s bored/frustrated but its all the time. She does laugh, squeal and smile but when she’s not, its just an awful whinging sound. Is anyone elses baby doing this because i’m...

Unsure if baby girls getting enough milk… confused

I know all babies are different but I’m feeling confused if my little one isn’t drinking enough or I’m trying to force milk on her! She lost 12.5% body weight when she was born so I guess part of the reason I worry and why she is combi fed. The back of the Kendamil recommends 180ml 5 times a day. She’s drinking arou...

Reducing supply

Hi mamas please I’m at a crossroad now. My baby is 6weeks, EBF and also feeding through bottle with expressed milk. But I’ve just noticed my milk supply is reducing when I pump. Before I used to get about 6oz from both breast but now I’m getting 2oz after pumping for 30mins. What can I do?

Can your baby clap?

My just turned 10 month old can play peekaboo, has been babbling for months, says mama and dada, and can imitate me in lots of ways, but she just won't clap. Anyone else in the same boat? I've been trying for months and have even started watching Ms Rachel in the hopes that'll help her.

Advice on wake windows/naps

Im currently doing some reading into wake windows as I’ll be honest, up until now I’ve been fully winging this! But sleep has become a big problem so I’m trying to get a bit of a schedule together. I’ve read that ideally I should be aiming for 2.5-3.5 hours of sleep during the day across either 3/4 naps, but my litt...

He is exclusively breastfed, he is piling the weight on and weights nearly 13lb so he is doing really well. He feeds alot throughout the day but im just worried that maybe I should be waking him to ...

Stop/Starting BF

Hi! I have an 11 week old, I stoped BF at 4 weeks due to bad mental health and being overstimulated whilst adjusting to having 2 children. My baby is full of a cold, her 3rd one since birth and I’ve just defrosted some colostrum from the freezer to give to her and jumped in the shower. Out of curiosity I squeezed ...

Is anyone still doing shifts with their partner or has anyone moved away from it?! Any tips/thoughts/experiences? My husband still has our 9 week old baby downstairs from around 9-12 every night so I can sleep. He has a bottle during that chunk but is otherwise breastfed. What time does your baby wake in the morning? Do you wake them up or let them wake up naturally on their own?

I’ve seen a lot of people saying their baby wakes up at 7am. My LO wakes up between 8:30-9am. I feel very grateful that I get to sleep in that long but I’m thinking I should probably set an alarm to wake up earlier to prepare for nursery in the new year. Also struggling to get all bottles done throughout the day as ...
