Advice

Salam sisters, please don’t take my words wrong, it’s just a mother’s wish. So I already have 2 beautiful baby girls and now thinking of baby number 3, I know Allah is the best planner above all that he has grant me 2 beautiful daughters, but this is just a mother’s wish for a son this time around. Is there any Islamic amaal or prayer I can do specially to ask Allah for a son? Allah says, ask me whatever your wish and wants in ur duas. I know tahjjad is a really good time to ask Allah what I wish for. But is there anything else I can do, islamicaly for a healthy baby son who will be in the path of Islam and so on. And I also heard that having sex with your partner during ur ovulation increases the chances of a baby boy, I don’t even know or believe if that’s true, just saying but anyways!!! That’s a whole another topic!!! Thank you.

Walaikumasalaam sis, Not sure if anything in particular can help you have a boy, but you can make dua for anything as long as it’s halal. There is a dua that people should say when having sex which is supposed to protect any baby conceived from shaitan (not specifically for boys or girls). It’s in Fortress of a Muslim I think. I did want to point out that “having sex during ovulation” is how women tend to get pregnant naturally, as without ovulation there is no egg to fertilise. So sounds like whoever said that doesn’t really have an understanding of basic human biology 😅 I’m not sure how the egg’s position would impact gender as the X or Y chromosome that determines gender actually comes from the sperm.

The ovulation thing I have heard about as well basically they say the male sperm swims faster but the female sperm lives longer. So if you were to have sex a few days before ovulation you are more likely to have a girl whereas if you abstain until your ovulation begins it might be more likely to be a boy. But that being said it can go either way and having 3 girls is such a blessing "Whoever Allah has given three daughters and he perseveres through raising them, will have them as a shield for him from the Hellfire on the Day of Resurrection.” so try to be prepared for it to go either way as children are a blessing from Allah swt inshaa'Allah you have a healthy and righteous baby.

@Syeda I’ve heard this too but I’m pretty this was debunked 😅 But I agree go for it but also try to keep faith that whatever outcome is for the best. Allah has already written what will happen. Make lots of dua! X

Sounds like a weird myth to me @Syeda. You can’t do anything about the gender, the sperm determines it. Just make dua Allah grants you a healthy baby boy, inshallah.

I don't actually believe it myself, there's so many myths / wives tales like sex positions for having a boy or girl, particular foods to eat etc. But yeah the deciding factor is the sperm and whether boys run in your husbands family (and ofc what's written for you) just continue to make dua Allah knows best.

@Syeda hmm I hear ya, my husband siblings they r 5, big brother, then big sister then my husband and a sis and the last is brother …. 🤷‍♀️ but yes none the less dua is what I need to do 🥰
