Post stitches appointment

I had 2nd and 3rd degree tears where the surgeon said I would have an appointment 12 weeks post birth to check how they were. Has anyone actually had this? I am 19 weeks post birth now and have had appointment cancelled for the third time. My first appointment was over 12 weeks anyway.. and all have been booked as a telephone appointment!? I’m just so confused and annoyed really as I’ve still had some issues that the GP hasn’t really been able to help with.
