Skipping solids occasionally

Just wondering if anyone has skipped solids on days when you’re out and about? So far I’ve moved around the timing of the solids to better work with the schedule but haven’t skipped any yet. My LO is 7.5 months and we do 3 sessions of solids a day (only one “full” meal before his first nap and smaller ones later) and 4 bottles. I wonder if some days I could just do 5 bottles and maybe his last solids before bed? Also forward planning for when he’s 9.5 months and we’re travelling to the USA from Scotland (2 flights) to visit family. Not sure if at that age it would be appropriate? I know realistically it’s my own choice with my baby but just wondering what others do! ☺️

Food under one is for fun, don't stress xx

I stressed loads about meals with my first; I’m way more relaxed this time around. Sometimes if he’s super tired, or we need to go somewhere and the schedule doesn’t allow, then he just gets breastmilk. As long as he gets one decent attempt at solid food in I’m not too fussed, but I’ve even seen me skipping food entirely if he’s not up for it.

Yeah we are very hit and miss with lunch as if we are out and about I struggle to fit lunch in! The aim is that you're working up to 3 meals and 2 snacks by the time they're one so I wouldn't worry, I remind myself of that when I feel anxious about it. I have a "path to weaning" leaflet and that says between 7-9 months you're aiming to get up to 3 meals, so I feel like we have time to get the consistency nailed yet!

Thanks you guys! Making me feel much better about taking a relaxed approach and going with my gut ☺️

My LG is nearly 8 months, we do breakfast usually porridge or yoghurt and 90% do tea because lunch just doesn't fit into feeding schedule tbh. Sometimes she eats BabyLed and sometimes it's on a spoon. I don't stress about it tbh. She's fed and happy 😊

Food before one is just for fun! Main nutrients comes from breastmilk/formula. The aim of introducing solids is to expose your baby to new flavours, textures, teach chewing and sensory experience. I skip food when baby is ill or constipated.
