Mixing Whole Milk and Formula

I’d love to know if any of you have started transitioning your babies over to whole milk? Previous guidelines used to be if your baby has 7 oz formula usually for example, you’d do 1 oz whole milk and 6oz formula and gradually build it up - is this still the case? My little one turns 1 on May 23rd, and has had whole milk in his weetabix and never had a problem with his tummy. I was planning on giving him a small cup with his lunch etc and gradually build it up - but does anyone know how much whole milk they should be having?

Aw birthday twins! Honestly I was planning to do the same as you. My LOs had milk in porridge, weetabix, shredded wheat. I do sometimes let her suck the remaining milk out of the bowl with a straw! She mostly spits it out so far 😅 but she also had loads of yoghurt and cheese so I’m not anticipating any issues with dairy. Halfway through a tub of formula now but have one more, when we open that one I think I’ll start transitioning :)

Not sure on exact quantities but she’s on roughly 500ml formula a day so if she fully replaces that with milk I don’t think that would be too much?

Yes a month ago I started adding it to cereal and giving her small amounts to drink but formula is still her main drink for now She drinks cows milk absolutely fine so will switch over ok Shes 1 on the 15th May

My LO has had cows milk in wheetabix for ages, but didn’t take to cows whole milk on its own as a drink at all! Completely refused it. So the last couple of days I’ve been mixing formula with whole milk which is working! And I’ll gradually reduce the formula so in the end he’s just on whole milk!

I’ve just been to my 1-year development review and they don’t recommend mixing formula and whole milk anymore, so will just be introducing whole milk on its own 🫶
