Help introducing formula

Hey guys. I’m currently bf my 3 week old. If I was to introduce formula, should I do this the same time every day? Will my milk adjust? How do I naturally stop bf? Hope this makes sense? TIA X

Do you want to stop BF completely?

At around 10 weeks old yeah, so another 7 weeks

@Victoria I’m currently trying to stop and my little boy is 12 weeks old. I spoke to the infant feeding team regarding stopping and she said to replace a feed every 3/4 days so drop a feed every 3/4 days! Also, when it comes to drop another space them out! If you feel engorged make sure you hand express for a couple mins just til you feel relieved. I have mastitis at the minute so I’ve had to put a pause on it but I will be continuing after it’s gone

You can stop slowly and giving less breast throughout the day and introduce formula right away. Ask your pediatrician which one they recommend based on your baby’s need. Eventually you will stop completely but if you start pumping because you feel engorged you wont stop producing milk.

Fab thank you x

I am currently combi feeding my 3 week old due to her not putting on enough weight. I will breast feed, burp her and then finnish with formula in a bottle. If you are wanting to stop breast feeding then id suggest you do the same and gradually give more formula and hopefully your breast milk should start to dry up. I am not stopping breastfeeding just trying to get my Daughters weight up more so doing both but the less you breast feed the sooner you will dry up.
