Baby bottle teats

Hey girls, I’m 26 weeks pregnant and only now starting to think about buying baby bottles. I just wondered what flow teat do I need for a newborn?

Depends on the brand! every brand will have their own flow chart for the nipples. We plan on using dr browns bottles so theirs are labeled size 1, 2, 3 respectively, and i believe they do make smaller ones than the size 1 for like preemies.

I use Mam and they start from size 0. Just be wary with mam, if you buy the smaller size bottles they come with size 1 teats , the size 0 need to be purchased separately. Also my advice don’t go by the age on the packaging as my girl is almost 6 months and has only just gone on to size 2 teats (started on size 0). Some babies want the faster flow sooner and some can’t handle it like mine x

I was recommended to buy dr browns slow flow by lactation consultant which comes with premie and level 1 nipple

Thank you ladies, I’ll look into both of these options! I really wasn’t sure so I appreciate your responses 🥰

I used mam size 1 teats to start out with but my baby actually had a tongue tie so we moved her down to size 0. Unless your baby has similar issues I wouldn’t bother with size 0 as they don’t last 2 seconds!!!! Xx
