PIP / ESA benefit advice.

Hey mamas! I currently receive the above as I suffer with a couple of health conditions and was wondering if anybody knows if I need to contact DWP to make them aware of my pregnancy? Also wondering if I am I entitled to any extra help now that I’m expecting a baby / once the baby arrives? My partner works full time but this doesn’t affect my income the way it would if I received universal credit. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks 😊

I’m not sure about pip, but I would love to find out if you get an answer as I hadn’t even thought of that and would also need to let them know if that’s the case. I had to let universal credit know, and if you’re on universal credit you’re entitled to maternity grant when you’re I think 11 weeks from due date. I’m not sure what you’re entitled to if you’re not on uc, but there a significant amount of help if you are, like the healthy start card, and maternity grant plus child benefit once baby’s here x

Yes. You can log in to your UC account, go to the homepage and click on "Report a change" from there you can add your change of circumstances. Otherwise you can add an entry to your online journal that way you've informed your advisor and they won't try to get you work. X

I don’t receive UC but the lady above does so hopefully she sees you reply and this can be of use to her 😊 x

I have reported to uc, I just wasn’t entirely sure about pip. Thank you though!
