Paid Parental leave

In order to receive government paid parental leave, you need to work 12 months continuous service. If the company you work for goes into liquidation, does this 12 month service still apply? I’ll need to get another job and I’ll have to wait 5 months before doing an ivf embryo transfer. I’m turning 37 soon so time is precious. Just thought I’d ask this community before calling fair work and services australia.

You need a min 10-11 months of work I believe

I also think this year in July they’ll be offering 26 weeks paid leave rather than 90 days

@Katerina it’s 22 weeks this year (2 reserved for the father unless you’re single) it’ll be 26 in 2026 x

I think there is special circumstances that can apply. As some people have to work casual jobs, there is a work test section on the website that tells about special circumstances in relation to meeting the test
