Scared to start introducing eggs!!😅

My LG is 7 months and I’m so scared to introduce her to eggs, I would love so much to give some scrambled egg or something similar but the thought that it’s very common for them be allergic to them at this age scares me!!! Is there any meal ideas I can do that just slowly introduces egg to her diet? In very small amounts?? Pretty please!🥰

I’m scared too! I’m thinking just an egg omelette. Whisk an egg and cook that in a pan. I’d just introduce that with nothing else x

@Lucy so glad I’m not the only one! I thought I was being dramatic haha!😂 I’ve seen so many babies have allergic reactions scares the hell out of me!🤦‍♀️ I’m thinking the same! xx

@Sophie when doing it give it in the morning. After school time. So if you need to get to the hospital you can quickly, and with the same allergens x

@Lucy good idea! I live about 30 mins away from my nearest hospital which worries me most! 🤦‍♀️ xx

My son is 7m in a couple days and I just introduced eggs 2 days ago. I just boiled an egg and gave him a quarter of it. He was just fine! I was scared as well and it is scary but try not to worry too much :) I keep allergy medicine on hand if there’s ever an emergency.

@Mae thank you for this! It’s definitely worrying times trying them with new foods isn’t it! I prefer the days when it was just bottles or breast haha! xx

i introduced egg for the first time in avacado burger patties so it was a very small amount x

I'm thinking when it's time for me to introduce allergens I'ma do in in the ER parking lot

Yeah like @Tristan said! Or find a restaurant/cafe nearby?

It’s better to do it early! We introduced eggs right at 6 months and because we have a lot of food allergies in the family we got the ok and dosage for Benadryl incase of a reaction. Luckily we did because our daughter did end up being allergic to eggs lol for her the second time she tried she had a rash around her mouth and nothing more. Her doctor advised to try eggs again every 6 months because she had a mild allergy by 18 months she had grown out of it. She was always able to eat things with eggs baked in just not straight eggs or sauces with eggs in them

I did omelette for mine, and only let her suck on it for a while the first time 🤦🏼‍♀️ With her nut, I did smooth peanut butter whilst sat in the car park of the hospital as we live 30 mins away 🤣

If your really worried you could feed it to her in the hospital car park I’ve known a lot of people do it when introducing allergens it’s whatever takes your anxiety away xx

Hi, allergens can be/ should be introduced in small amounts and increased. I found googling egg ladder and following that really helpful. Example you mix 1/6 teaspoon of egg in to an excepted purée. Then 1/5 ect ect

I've read some people park up in the hospital car park whilst trying specific foods due to anxiety, you could try this? Take some toys ect, sounds far fetched but if it helps then it's 100% worth it 🩷

Remember, they generally won’t react the first time to an allergy.

What about a small piece of homemade cake? It will have a small amount of egg in it that has been diluted with other ingredients so you may see a small reaction

I tried egg in a cake like Hannah said. Only a tiny bit of cake but he liked it

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeQtKWvT/ this could be a good idea for the egg part :)

I started my LO with egg by dipping my finger in egg yolk and offering it to him when he was 4.5 months old, so he could have a taste.

I was scared too as my baby is allergic to cows milk protein and was told he’s more likely to be allergic to other allergens. I introduced egg by giving him an Ella’s kitchen chicken noodles pouch which contains egg. He was fine, he’s had boiled egg too x

Kust feed them in the morning so you've got plenty of time to see if there's any reaction! I am sure they'll be fine, eggs are very healthy for babies 🙂

Completely fine - just give in the morning so you can monitor. Assume you have done peanuts and other allergens already? Eggs no different 👍🏻 It’s much better to introduce early on Good luck!
