Had it before pregnancy since I was about 14. It’s tough. I finally figured out how to control symptoms and conceived my daughter 2 years after. Long and hard road and drs know nothing about it. All they want to do is give you birth control and tell you you’re infertile 🙄
@Kayla what helped you?? I did get on the nuvaring just because I want to wait 12-18 months especially because I had a c section.
I was diagnosed with PCOS prior to my fourth pregnancy. I will say though I had a miscarriage for my first and second pregnancy, a missed miscarriage for my third pregnancy and gave birth to my daughter for my fourth pregnancy.
I got diagnosed this year after having my daughter last year. My doctor didn’t give me anything. I was having really bad pains and I had a scan where they found out I had pcos and that was it😭
I was diagnosed about a month before conceiving my firstborn. I was 19 at the time and I honestly believe this diagnosis was missed for yrs by drs I seen and getting labs done. I do think my cycles have gotten better since I had my firstborn and I’ve given birth to my 2nd child in January of this yr. I luckily by the time I was diagnosed was no longer such a severe case of it so the “ treatment” which is literally just hormones / birth control was optional for me and I’m truly glad I declined because I wouldn’t have had my firstborn when I did.
@Janelle I take a butt load of supplements, but the main ones I suggest for everyday health are omegas, prenatal, NAC, and ovasitol. For fertility if not breastfeeding, i added saw palmetto and vitex. I also went gluten and dairy free and worked out 5x a week. I lost 30lbs in 3 months and conceived shortly after.
I was diagnosed unofficially by the doctors at 16 then officially at about 20 after a scan. By the time they scanned me and checked everything over I wasn’t a severe case so they prescribed some medication I can’t remember the name of now to take for a couple of months to try help my period regulate more so I could keep track of my cycles which worked. I did have some trouble with conceiving but I have my little girl now and everything was fine with the pregnancy with no complications☺️x
I was told I had it at 15 and that the chances of me getting pregnant and carrying full term with a healthy baby was 2%. They gave me medicine and scanned me regularly because of the pain I was in and the bleeding but it must have gone away or died down because I'm on my 4th pregnancy currently and have 2 beautiful children. I have always had irregular periods even after my pregnancies and I bleed very heavily but it is controlled with meds (the bleeding I mean) and I take pain relief when it gets unbearable.
I was diagnosed with PCOS two months before I got pregnant. According to my doctors, I had a severe case and would struggle to conceive. But here I am, 2 healthy boys later.
