@Sarah have you got a specific midwife or a number questions like this? i only have numbers for non urgent enquiries, labour ward ect? i dunno if i’m being stupid or not🤣
I am flying to the US in August too and will be 26w at the time. I’ve contacted my midwives as I have no appointment with them until after I return and they are happy to send me a fit to fly letter without seeing me - I was low risk at my last appointment in June but I’m still surprised! Try calling yours to ask in advance
@Helen should i call the non urgent inquiries line i dont have a number for a midwife?x
@Jessica yeah I would call non urgent inquiries if I didn’t have a midwife number. (You sure there isn’t a midwife number in your purple book?) No harm checking with them and even if they can’t help they may be able to point you in the right direction
@Helen i find the hospital quiet unhelpful, i called them the other day to see where i can get a matb1 form and when i got to the hospital to collect it the lady told me not to call the number to bother them 🤣 i was quite confused as the numbers are obviously given to us in the books to be used?
Have you checked with your airline to see if you actually need a fit to fly?
@Charley yeah i’m flying with British airyways
@Jessica oh I thought the non urgent number you had was for someone like the midwives 🤦🏻♀️ the hospital probably won’t help. It’s crazy that the midwives have not given you a number to contact them on. But you do have an appointment with them the week before right?
@Helen yeah ive got an appointment on the 12th of august and i’m due to fly out on the 20th, i’ve emailed my doctors surgery just to see if there’s anything they can do, if not i’ll have to wait till the i next see a midwife
Can you contact your midwife to ask for one or ask your gp for one
