Sadly no advice to give from me, I’m 7 months in with my 21 month old and 7 month old, still haven’t got a clue what I’m doing but we’re making the best we can of it, it’s not easy but worth every second, some days are pure stress, some days are pure beauty, just roll with the tide, take each day as it comes! And on a side note, my reason for commenting is because I highly advise NOT getting the ickle bubba twin pram (ever), or the hauck duett (yet) - ickle bubba seemed perfect when I got it, until I felt ready to travel and realised how inconvenient it is on public transport, in shop doorways, even in the boot space, it’s the biggest pram I’ve ever had, wider than a wheelchair so is forever in people’s way, it’s frustrating and as for the hauck duett, I wouldn’t get that until your baby is sitting up, I originally planned to use that from birth but once my 2nd boy arrived, and used it, my eldest had the carrycot right in his face bless him, it’s a poor arrangement, I’m still (1 of 2)
Yet to find a pram that’s perfect and suitable for everything, so I’ll be following this post in hope for tips too🤣 because as I said, 7 months in and I’m still winging it😩😩😩😂good luck mummas, I hope your journey is easier than mine😂xxxx
Aww thank you both for commenting! In some ways it is actually just reassuring to know that most people are probably just winging it and taking it day at a time, as that's how I feel it's going to be for us! Enjoy the good moments and wait for the stressful ones to pass is my mantra. Great advice re double prams @Louiza ! Our front door is quite narrow so a lot of the side by side prams are ruled out already but the Mountain Buggy Duet looks like it could be a shout. Can't seem to find anywhere stocking them to look at in person though, eek. Might need to be an up and down one, but don't love the idea of one child being squished at the bottom! My daughter isn't walking yet as she is hyper mobile, so a double pram is a must for us, otherwise I'd absolutely go with what you mentioned @Elle and do baby wearing to start with. Xxx
@Elle Ahh good luck when the big day comes! Hope everything goes smoothly! ❤️
We have the candy double pram . My girl is 20 months and my boy is 4 months xxx
Congratulations and good luck 🥰 Currently pregnant with our second and due in February. We're gonna get the mountain buggy duet as it's slim enough to fit through most door ways and folds easily :) Can have younger child in bassinet and then parent facing whilst older child world faces :) xx
Congratulations! I’m currently pregnant with bubba 2 - due in 2.5 weeks. My LG will be 21 months when baby is born. We’ve gone for the Cybex Gazelle for our double x
I have a 15 month gap between my two. We’re almost 5 months in! We have the ickle bubba Venus. Can’t fault the pushchair at all! You can also purchase the bassinet that accommodates for the newborn but it’s not essential as it does lay flat on its own. It’s not all that heavy and folds really well. I can fit it into the boot of my Fiat 500 so that says it all 🤣 The transition was super easy. Stick to your toddler’s routine as much as possible and your baby will slot right in. Juggling needs can be hard at times when you’re on your own in the day, but my baby is very easy and she can be put on the playmat or given a toy whilst I attend to my toddler. We include our toddler as much as we can with her needs and over time he’s got used to it and although he can get frustrated at times if I can’t attend to him straight away, he does calm down and wait now. When he does, I give lots of praises. You’ll be fine! It’s scary but amazing. Congratulations, and you’ve got this! X
@Row the Venus is what we have and it’s such a hassle, it doesn’t fit through my front door so I have to get the babies and everything ready in my front garden which is just embarrassing sometimes when they’re both having a meltdown 😂 then getting on buses, trams, going in shop doors, and trains omg the lifts are non existent most of the time, it wasn’t until I got this pram that I realised just how crap this country is for pram and wheelchair access, so I personally wouldn’t recommend it unless everything you go to is on foot or you drive and the shops are big enough 😂 some may like it, but I’ve had nothing but trouble with it, even going around the shop once you’re in it, most aisles aren’t wide enough so I end up knocking things over by accident, it stresses me 😩 And as for winging it, I personally believe that’s the true answer to parenthood🤣😂 make it up as you go along, try your hardest and hope for the best 😂 xxxx
I have a 15 month gap between my 2, I would say you’ll probably feel a lot of guilt for one or the other but remember you can’t split yourself into 2 and you’ll be doing the best you can, there’s no point feeling guilty! My littlest is almost 6 months now, we have a double pram (silver cross wave) can’t really fault it, it’s just a bit of a pain setting up and packing back in the car so I actually find it easier sometimes to just put baby in the carrier and take a different pushchair for my toddler. I always try my best to stick to my toddlers routine above anything because I find baby’s routine changes more often anyway. I put a lot of pressure on myself for things to always go right and to achieve a lot in one day which is sooo unrealistic 🤣so my best piece of advice would be to lower all your expectations and just take everything as it comes, it’s hard but it won’t be this hard forever 😊also if there is anyone that can help you then ask for help x
Following as my second is due any day now! We haven’t gone for a double pram but plan to wear our youngest as much as possible as the eldest doesn’t love being in the pram so much anyway so we can switch them out (our pram is really easy to adjust from bassinet to toddler mode 😅
