I believe it’s normal, it’s cluster feeding. Try and find a lactation specialist. Don’t just give up, without talking to someone. Keep feeding in demand (which is exhausting) I’m going through it right now 🥲 my baby is 1week today.
@Jessica your baby was fussy as well??
Yes :( he wouldn't be able to just chill and relax if he was awake. He would be extremely fussy & would just cry & cry. I finally switched him to just formula and seen a really big difference almost instantly. It was probably what I was eating that was making him gassy through my milk
We are switching to formula after 3 weeks of breastfeeding. My daughter wasn’t latching correctly so she wasn’t getting enough milk and she was causing me a lot of pain. I had the same issue with my first baby and even though a saw lactation consultants, we were never able to solve the latch issue. I used a nipple shield and that helped with the pain but she still wasn’t getting enough. So we were supplementing. Then she only gained 2 oz in a week despite the fact that I was nursing 24/7. Poor thing was so hungry all the time. Now with the formula she is a lot happier and is sleeping better
Nothing to feel guilty about! Fed is best! I’d recommend working with a lactation consultant though if you WANT to keep trying to breastfeed or even pumping if you want to do that.
@Jessica which formula did you switch to?
Similac 360 sensitive!
Yes! I switched to formula & my baby is doing a lot better!
