@Jess I think it’s just such a let down and I want my body to produce as much as it can for her so that she can have the best start (it helps flush jaundice) she also had a perfect latch and the best suck but now she doesn’t want a bar of me cause breastmilk she has to work for whereas she doesn’t have to for formula so she’s getting lazy which breaks my heart even more
@Elise I completely get that! I’ve heard of people relatching their baby months after bottle feeding so it is doable. It will be harder now as jaundice makes babies really sleepy which will be another reason she won’t want to work for it but I’m sure once she’s better it will be doable. Just keep pumping as much as you can until then and try not to be too disheartened if your milk doesn’t come straight away. With my first baby it didn’t come in until day 5
The first few days it will just be colostrum and it’s very minimal! My milk came in at day 3 that’s when I started getting a decent amount in my pump. Just keep pumping and it will surely come in :)
The biggest thing that helped me with this was using premie teats my baby would cry at the breast when I tried after a week of only bottles the I switched to premie teats and after a couple bottles with that he was happier to latch and feetibg better
I’ve heard people say that having a picture of them can help whilst you pump to help get the oxytocin going. Also making sure you’re drinking plenty of water will help and oats are supposed to be really good for increasing supply. But if she’s only 2 days old you just need to give it time as sometimes milk doesn’t come in for 3-5 days. As long as you’re pumping frequently to stimulate your boobs then your body should get the message to make milk
