Milk Supply Decreasing

So since I’ve had my period back my milk is slowly decreasing and I’m having to supplement with formula but now lb is refusing my milk. Am I best to just switch to formula and slowly stop expressing? Feeling upset about it as he is only 6 months and feel like a bit of a failure if I switch but I know fed is best. Has anyone else had this issue?

Is he refusing it while you’re on your period? When you have your period it’s normal for the flavour to change. I read that the sugar in the milk goes down and it can sometimes taste quite salty. That might be why he’s refusing it? I tried mine on my period (straight from the tap 😂) because I was curious and it was disgusting. Not sweet at all and had a strange taste

Up your water intake. I never lost supply during my cycles because I drank too much water. You are NOT a failure! Reaching 6 months is a huge accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself and your little one 🫶🏻

I was given this advice when I noticed a dip in my supply during my period “A daily dose of 500 to 1,000 mg of a calcium and magnesium supplement from the middle of your cycle through the first three days of your period may help minimize any drop in supply” (from La Leche League Intl). Also, just like adding pump sessions to help keep stimulating for supply during your cycle

This my same issue 🙃 I think Imma call it quits
