@Stephanie just at the breast, I haven’t pumped since the first few months. I really do not enjoy pumping so I think I’ll take the formula route
In a nutshell, you need to tell your brain you don't need as much milk. So either spacing out your feeds further and/or feeding for less time each feed to the point you can eliminate certain feeds. It's all about going at a pace that is comfortable for you. I'm doing a mix of both and down to 2 pumping sessions a day now; will probably be done in a week or 2.
@Stephanie thank you , I hope I’m making the right decision sometimes I’m feeling really conflicted as there are positives to breastfeeding
The right decision is the one that is going to have the most positive impact on your mental health. Yes there’s positives to breastfeeding but as long as baby is fed, that’s the main thing! X
I went through the exact same issue; breastmilk exclusively and then he suddenly wanted so much more milk than I was producing. Supplemented with formula for a while, started solids and we are now moving to formula only. Are you pumping or at the breast? I pump so all my advice would be for pumping (though I'd imagine much of it would work the same).
