Morphology

Hi ladies, had anyone ever had experience with their partner being diagnosed with low morphology (1% in our case) and still getting pregnant naturally? My GP has said we have to continue trying for 2 years, despite the fact my partner has low sperm density and low morphology 😭.

My husband has 1% morphology. We have been trying for just under 2 years and were about to start ICSI when we got pregnant in our last natural cycle! Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage last week, but I guess it still counts as getting pregnant naturally! Not sure if we will be lucky enough a second time, but fingers crossed!

My partners morphology went from 1% to 3% with impryl!

We had low morphology and ended up having to go the ICSI route.

@Christina I’m so sorry to hear that lovely. Sending you love xx

I think it depends on counts. If counts/number of sperm is really good, then the low morphology is probably fine. If there are 100 million sperm, for example, and 1% have normal morphology, then that's still 1 million normal sperm. If both counts and morphology are less than ideal, then it might be harder.

@Taylor so he has 4.4ml volume and 10.6milllion sperm or ml, 60% motility and 1% morphology, so I assume it will be difficult without IVF right?

My husband has low morphology, I think around 1.5%. We had a natural pregnancy in 2018 which was sadly ectopic and we haven’t managed to conceive again naturally since. We’ve gone on to have 2 rounds of ICSI and have a daughter. My husband saw Dr Ramsey (urologist) who advised Impryl but it sadly didn’t make a great deal of difference. Good luck x

When we did our egg retrieval my husbands morphology was 2% on the day but luckily he had a very high count and motility so we still managed to get two good embryos. One failed and I’m 28 weeks pregnant with the other. Low morphology isn’t ideal but if his count is high enough there will be some of the good ones there

OP, I don't know the odds with those numbers specifically. That's still close to 50 million sperm in his total sample. 1% of that is half a million. That does seem a bit low. But technically, you only need 1! I will also say that if he hasn't made any lifestyle changes yet, he might be able to improve those numbers significantly. My husband significantly cut back on alcohol, started exercising a bit more, and avoided tight boxers and got his numbers up quite a bit!

Start taking proxeed men it definitely improves. Also order book it’s start with egg by rebbica fet 3rd edition. Follow it accordingly. Everything mentioned there. Good luck 🤞
