How do you know if your allowed a sweep? I’ve got my midwife appointment tomorrow and want to ask for one
Saaame! Have my midwife appt next Monday going to ask for a sweep. Was all ‘no I’ll let her come naturally’ before and now I’m like pls come out 😂
I requested a sweep at 37 weeks but I had to wait until I was 38 to have one (didn't work 🙃) request an induction and see what they say x
@Meg the midwife told me last week that at 39 weeks I could have a sweep. My next appointment is tomorrow. X
@Jade she said I had to wait until I was 39 weeks for a sweep which is today, apparently tomo. She said they don’t induce you now until 41 weeks if everything seems okay 😭 x
@Meg ive been offered it at the 40 wk appointment, then again at 41 wks if I need
I'd just ask about it, the worst they can say is no, I have to wait until next Thursday for another stretch and sweep where I will be 40 weeks. If you're that bad, they should accommodate you, it's your body at the end of the day x
I would go in if I were you. I thought I was having period cramps but turned out to be contractions. I was up Friday evening because of the pain and gave birth Saturday night
@Lily I’m exactly the same! I really wanted it to be all natural and wanted to avoid intervention. Now I’m wondering when I get an induction. Going to ask about a sweep tomorrow 😂

@Lily it’s deffo worth an ask. I had mine today and she said I was 3CM, she can stretch it to 4CM. She asked if I was in any pain. Doesn’t think I will be long now 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 x
Oh that’s good news! 🤞🏻 your baby comes soon then!! I’ll defo be asking next week haha
@Lily I’m only 38 weeks so they wouldn’t give me one today but I’m booked in for one next week. Had my worst nights sleep last night so involuntarily broke down on my midwife 🤦🏼♀️
@Louise oh not long to wait then, hopefully things get moving for you! I had an awful night last night too! Was mercury in retrograde or something😂
