Transfer to Chelmsford

Hey all, I’ve had several incidents with my Colchester midwife which has resulted in me putting in a formal complaint. Gutted my pregnancy has been tarnished by this! The lead midwife is supportive of me transferring to Chelmsford instead, but I have received a response to myself referral that they are full capacity and suggest I stay at Colchester. Does anyone know whether I can push for this to be accepted or what I need to do please?

Sorry that you are going through something like this. Can you just request another midwife? I ended up having two but not because of anything negative, it just happened with dates so I’m sure that there are others that you can be assigned to?

@Hannah I basically did ask to change midwife’s after raising my concerns and my original midwife sent me a shitty text and email being so rude, I just can’t move past it considering the main issue was I’d reached out about my mental health being really low and her disregarding me. I’m terrified I’ll turn up for my C-section and it’ll be her that will be there, or that I’ll see her whilst staying overnight etc. honestly my anxiety can’t cope xx

If your not set on Chelmsford, I went to Bury St Edmunds for a check up when Colchester was on divert, I loved it, wanted to transfer there myself but i wasn’t sure how to go about it! X

Sorry to hear this! I don’t know if it’s possible but have you considered Ipswich hospital? It’s much closer than Chelmsford & I hear they’re a good hospital. Not sure if they have maternity services though.

Just being nosy but who’s your midwife at Colchester? X
