Natural ways of reducing fasting glucose levels?

Hi all, I have been diagnosed with GD at 26 weeks, and I have been controlling the sugar levels quite well for 2 weeks, now I am reaching 29 weeks but in the last three days fasting levels are in the range of 5.3-5.8 so they have sent me Metformin. I really don't want to start meds. Did anyone find a natural way to lower the fasting readings? Thank you!

Fasting numbers are very difficult to control unfortunately. You still have a way to go and you really don’t want your fasting numbers to continue to be over target. Following your clinicians advice is the best idea. With that said, I didn’t get along well with metformin in my last pregnancy and this time opted to go straight to insulin which I’ve preferred this time. Something you could consider if you don’t want tablets.

I just stopped the bed time snack pr if I did have a snack I just had aome cheese it's helps me loads xx

I took myo inositol, also known as vitamin b8, and it seriously reduced my fasting levels. I'd talk to your team first, but they may not know a lot about it since the research is very promising, but pretty recent.

Your hormones are increasing and there’s nothing you can do about fasting numbers unfortunately. I e been on insulin and metformin since 25 weeks and at 36 weeks now my doses are getting upped every week! It’s the rise in hormones sending your sugars spiking

Just an update on how is it going, since my post just in case helps someone: I managed to control the fasting levels by including more exercise during the day: 2 hours minimum spread during the day: half an hour morning, afternoon and night, and other half an hour in between. Also eating just protein and fiber at dinner before 8pm. I still have a long way to go but will see how evolves! Thanks everyone! ☺️
