I wasn’t thinking about it but I’m due again Jan 25 😅 in some ways I’m glad I won’t have forgotten plus worked out well with maternity pay 😅 however I’m also terrified.
I did that sort of, got pregnant when my eldest turned 1. I only went back for a year part time. It's hard but at least I know sleep is coming 😂
I have a 2.5y age gap. We definitely wanted them close together and part of that was absolutely to not have this phase of parenthood/life spanning over many years. I don’t think I’d have coped well with a smaller gap, personally. But I also can’t 100% rule out a third 🙊
Id love another one 🙈 Financially not an option just yet for us at the moment and i also have the absolute fear at the thought of being pregnant and running after a 1 year old.. but i also Think about it often as if it happens we would just make it work!🙈
I have a 2.5 year age gap between my sons as we wanted them close together. As much as I think it will be good when the are older, I think waiting that extra year would have been a bit easier. My 3 year old is still very needy and obviously I have to see to his little brother so I think that extra year, maybe he wouldn’t have needed me as much. We do want another one but it definitely won’t be anytime soon 🤣. xx
Ignore if you plan to formula feed but trying to breastfeed a baby while potty training a 2 year old was probably one of the worst experiences of my life. 🤣 Would strongly not recommend.
We have a 2 year 10 month age gap and it’s worked well! I’m done with two now though. I wouldn’t have wanted an age gap any smaller but I know some people who have loved small age gaps too! Totally your choice and your circumstances financially, mentally, physically etc 🥰 xx
@Siobhan Can I ask you- were you entitled to full maternity pay again? did you go back to work for some time?
So technically my maternity should finish the 3rd January as I took a full year however because I have 32 days holiday I’m technically coming off maternity the 20th November using all my holiday and going back onto maternity the 6th January I will then get 39 weeks of SMP again. I’m due again 4th February but will be having her the 29th January 😅 so I won’t need to return in between.
We had a 2 year 3 month age gap, on reflection and in hindsight I’d have picked a 6 month bigger gap so I think @Claudia has it about right! X
I have a 2 year 4 month age gap… unplanned and I personally would wait for a 3 year + age gap.
