Nothing much to add to what Veronica said, my baby has one tooth on the bottom, but chews just the same as if she did have a full set of teeth. But as far as food options go, I give my baby plain Greek yogurt mixed with natural peanut butter and cinnamon. I would also cook quinoa and slightly blend it with some seasonings and water to start introducing more texture. As my baby got more comfortable with chewing, some solids I introduced included baked apples, zucchini spears baked and coated in bread crumbs, ground meat with tomato sauce, cooked flaky fish like cod, etc. I purchased a baby led weaning cookbook on Amazon just for some ideas.
my baby is 9 months and is barely starting to teeth at all, still giving her some solids that aren’t to hard for her to chew on (: you’re doing great mama
The solid starts app is so helpful! I've given my son solid since 6 months, just mage sure they're prepared properly for baby's age. Also, baby's nutrients come from breastmilk/formulafor the first year, so don't worry about giving "enough." Some days we only do food once a day, and that's okay as long as my son is still nursing plenty.
I feed my girl everything she wanna eat lol..gums are damn near as hard as teeth, so believe me they can definitely break down some food lol.
Babies can still chew if they have no teeth, their gums are very strong. Usually they get their front teeth first, and they learn to chew more with where their molars are, like we do, so most babies are chewing with no teeth where they are actually chewing anyways. It will obviously take several times of solid foods before they learn to actually chew them. My pediatrician said my baby can have up to 3 meals a day, so I'm not sure if that's just the standard for their age group. I think just purees are okay as long as you're doing it several times a day. Milk is still the primary source of nutrition for your baby now anyways, so they won't really need more until you consistently start giving them more (purees or solid foods), if that makes sense.
