Hi Naomi, Thank you for sharing your experience. Was the baby okay? Did you receive medical care afterward? That’s the part that frightens me the most—how to manage everything if something unexpected happens.
Yep baby was great! I think I was 39+5 so I was full term. It was a precipitous labor which isn’t super common but happens. With my first I was induced so I didn’t know what natural labor felt like. I started to have contractions just after 5am. I woke my husband about 550am and he was like we need to go to the hospital now!!!! I said what about the sitter?? He said no we need to go! So we woke toddler and put her in the car and sped to the hospital running lights! Pulled into the hospital emergency entrance about 615am… they wheeled me upstairs to the birth room. 620am I crawled on the bed as they ripped off my clothes. She went to check my dilation. Water broke. Baby born at 6:25am. The toddler and husband were in the room. Toddler just watched her tablet only looking up 1ce or 2ce. So basically I reached out on our Facebook neighborhood group bc I knew I’d need someone close in case we didn’t have much time. I met with a lady who also had a 2 year old.
She was aware that I could go into labor any day and anytime and I checked in daily to let her know what was going on and we made a plan in case the toddler had to stay overnight. So everything was planned…. And then it all happened too fast and we couldn’t use her anyway or I would have given birth in my car 😬 make a plan that works for you. And then don’t feel bad if it all goes wrong bc babies like to do that 😂
We found a lady in the neighborhood thru a Facebook neighborhood group that said she would watch the toddler. Unfortunately I went into labor toooooo fast and had to rush to the hospital and my toddler was in the room not caring at all while I scream and the baby came out in front of her😂😂 she had no idea what was going on and just watched her tablet
