From 12 months children don’t actually need milk as a drink. Just need to have 2 portions of dairy a day. So cheese, yoghurt & milk in cereal is absolutely fine! I offer cold cows milk with breakfast and it’s hit and miss whether he’ll drink it or not. This morning he had 1 sip, yesterday morning he had the whole thing. I also then offer 6oz of warm cows milk in a bottle before bed, again hit or miss how much he’ll have. Sometime the whole 6oz sometimes only 2oz. I wouldn’t worry at all.
Okay thank you. He drinks milk at bedtime but any other time you'd think I was trying to poison him 😂. He has yogurts and cheese so I guess that's enough x
@Megan yes that will be enough lovely x
So when I spoke to my health visitor about milk quantities etc she said that some babies just don't want milk and that's absolutely fine as long as they are getting calcium sources from their solids like cheese, yogurts etc. So if my LO doesn't drink all of her cows milk I don't worry about it as she gets it in her breakfast, if I'm making mash potato etc, I give her cheese for snacks, cheese sandwiches, yogurts etc. I'd keep trying small amounts to drink and he might take it but yeah as long as he's getting it in his solids I think it's fine :)
