I've already started kindergarten stuff with my son, but we're homeschooling, so I actually have no idea 😅 I'm just going with whatever he's ready for.
@Brittany that’s so cool! I see a lot of people homeschooling ! is he your only baby so far ?? What kind of stuff do you do with him throughout the day is there like an online teaching curriculum you’ve found ? And do you plan on homeschooling him like permanently or sending him to school at some point ?
I would wait till he turns 5 and start the following August/September. Most schools require them to be 5 or have permission for early start. My oldest goes to a really cool charter that's about 50 kids, so he will go there too. If you live in a choice state make sure and look around!
He's my 2nd of 3 We usually just do a small lesson. We started with the good and the beautiful when he very first turned 3 and have moved through Preschool pretty quick and pre K. We are mostly just reading two letter words right now and practicing reading sentences. He has also started a few 3 letter words. I'm not sure if we'll homeschool long term or not. We'll see how I feel when we add more subjects 😅
@Morgan okay I was wondering if it was an actual requirement ! Without some type of testing, And what does it mean to live in a “choice state” ?
@Brittany that’s awesome that you’re doing that I wish I could !!! I’ll have to look into the good and the beautiful I was thinking of ordering hooked on phonics for my son !
In CA, they have to be 5 by September to start kindergarten so it would be September '26. I've started looking a bit because I've been thinking about TK which would start September '25 for her 😬 I'm right there with you about freaking out
Following, I'm curious about this too
