combi feeding query

so we've recently introduced a bottle once a day to our little girl who's 15weeks and was EBF (after weeks of trying different bottles and her refusing!) - she's finally taking the lansinoh bottle and accepts kendamil+breastmilk combo from my husband before bed. only thing is, she only takes like max 50ml before wanting to feed from me - if he offers it in the morning she will take like 80ml, but according to the side of the bottle she should be taking 150ml?! just wondering how we can get her take more?

We do the same and have done since around 8 weeks, my little girl now takes around 5/6 oz however they don’t need the same amount of breast milk as the do formula so don’t worry what the bottle or formula tin says. Breastmilk increases in fat and whatever else the baby needs as they get older but the volume they consume stays around the same. It will take some time for her to get used to such volume without having to work for it also I find my little girl is better with the bottle for her dad than me purely because she knows I have the goods and he only has a bottle 🤣

Don't worry what the package says. It could be that before bed she wants to feed from you as associates that with sleep. Are you pace feeding her. Have you tried in a different position ie on her side lying down? Is she definitely hungry when offering?

@Ashleigh thankyou! yep i haven't even attempted to offer the bottle 😂

@Elaine yeah that makes sense, and i dont mind if she needs topping up by feeding from me but at the moment she takes less from the bottle and more from me and ideally i'd like it to be the other way! my husband does pace feed her but its almost like she gets bored and gives up! hard to say whether she's hungry, annoyingly she wants a feed about an hour and a half before her bedtime feed so possibly not but its hard to stretch it out!

What size teat are you using? Do you have a faster flow than it? Wondering if you might need to try some different ones to see if it's a flow mismatch issue?

we're using size 1 - i did order size 2 to try but they looked exactly the same as size 1 (might've been a defective pack) - do you reckon she needs a bigger size? i have quite a fast flow which she's used to now so i wonder whether its too slow for her?

I don't know how it works exactly but I don't think it's necessarily that the hole is bigger but somehow the milk magically comes out faster. Might be worth a try if you do have a fast flow. It's all so time.consuming and expensive trying to figure it out isn't it. I'm lucky that my daughter has happily taken mam bottles since 2 weeks (we combi feed) and we have stayed on size 0 but I don't have a fast flow or big supply tbh

Ebf babies won't take that amount. I'm sure max you should offer is 3-4oz so don't worry about that

@Lisa thanks that helps!
