When does midwife start looking at cervix?

Second baby and can’t remember for the life of me when they do this? Have my 36 weeks check next week so wanted to know when to expect it

My midwife did both check at 36 or 37 week appointment. She did mention she would check at next appointment (38 weeks) and do a sweep if I want (and if I am dilated etc).

I've had my 36 week appointment and no mention of checks. May be area dependent because there's no mention on the antenatal appointment breakdown on NHS Wales

They never checked with my first, so I'm not expecting it with my 2nd either.

I've not had anyone check it other than a visit to triage

I’ve already delivered but midwife said wouldn’t do checks or sweeps with 2nd until 41 weeks

I looked at my trust website because I was curious, looks like they don't do this in the north west anglia trust until 40 weeks and I'm being induced at 39 so guessing midwife won't be doing this

My midwife mentioned the option of a sweep at 39 weeks but nothing before, and that cervical checks are completely optional x

The first time anyone checked my cervix with my first was when I was in labour!

I didn’t even know they did this?! 😮

I've never had my cervix checked unless I've consented to a sweep which is usually after 40 weeks
