Babbling

My daughter is 1 on the 12th December and doesn’t babble at all. She will make sounds but not many of them. She understands you when you ask her to clap she does and dances things like that. Nursery have noticed it but they don’t see it being a problem just yet. I am worried because I do soo many activities with her but maybe I’m not doing enough with her. When she makes a noise I copy it and she interacts that way but when I change the sound she just doesn’t want to know. Has anyone else had this

My son is the same, makes loads of noises but no babbling yet. I’m not worried as he’s still engaged in social activities and is very close to walking so I think all of his effort is going onto walking instead of talking at the moment

Exact same here. Apparently dummy can cause this. Who knows everyone says different things. My daughter mixes and I do a lot of activities with her I sing to her I talk to her. Health visitor made me feel like a bad mum lmao I don’t care anymore I know I’m not a bad mum she will babble when she wants to imagine trying to compare you to someone who doesn’t stop talking like please we are all different. Sometimes I don’t. Wanna talk either 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Tabitha my son has never took a dummy but he does suck his thumb which he does 24/7 so could make sense 😅. My health visitor is the same- as if I don’t spend half my day reading, singing and chatting to him I don’t think I could talk to him anymore unless I wanted to give him a headache 😂😂 I’m sure they’ll be yapping in no time but for now I’m enjoying the peace as once they start they won’t stop xx

My health visitor doesn’t seem to care 😂. She does have a dummy but not all the time
