Baby seems aggressive

My baby is 13 months and is generally very rough with toys. It doesn't matter what I buy him to play with, he just wants to throw it around and slam it on the floor. He seems happy enough doing this, but never really plays with toys in the way of their intended purpose. For instance, he has little cars but doesn't really roll them around on the floor much, just slams and throws them. I'm starting to think it's pointless to buy him any toys for development purposes because he doesn't use them as intended. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal?

Normal especially for a boy in my experience and the fact that he literally just turned one. Do u play with him and demonstrate the “right” way to play with the toys?

Thanks for your reply 😊 yes I do this with him but his concentration span is quite short really, naturally. In the example I gave about the cars, he does roll them along the floor a little but just seems to quickly prefer to hit them on things 🤣

It sounds normal to me! My 2.5 yr old still does this too sometimes. He actually just had his toy car yesterday in the bathroom with me and was slamming it into the cabinets 🥲

Oh 🤣 that's good to know! My little one is my first so I feel like I'm always over thinking! Sounds like it's a little boy thing 🙃

Sounds very normal to me! They’re still super young in the grand scheme of toys. I think proper play comes much later - we’re very much in a throwing phase 😂 also a boy!

That's reassuring 😄
