I tend to bring loads of cut up veg and fruit and general snacks. Not because I'm fussed on the content of the kids menu, but because it would pain me to pay for a meal for him to just throw it on the floor 😂
They will be fine if it’s one time. My baby had a week of buffets when we were at a hotel in Mauritius. I just had to pick the best things I could for her. They shouldn’t have too much salt but no salt is unavoidable.
@Kay amen to this hahahaha
I’ve always been concerned about salt too! I saw a post on Solid Starts Instagram the other day (they’re quite reputable if you haven’t already heard of them) that said it’s ok for baby to share the family meal sometimes even if it has salt in it, rather than cook them something completely separate. I was shocked! So based on that I would say the kids menu is probably ok for a one off. That said, if I’m going out for lunch I tend to take something like strips of toast with peanut butter or cream cheese with some cucumber as this keeps her occupied and chewing for a while whilst I can enjoy my food! Also not too messy if she has to stay in the buggy (i.e if they’ve not got highchairs) ☺️
Give your baby whatever you think is suitable. Salt cannot be avoided sometimes but you have to look at the week how much salt intake etc, also if your baby drinks water then great . Pr you could make food and put it in a little food thermos and give it to your baby, or the other day I took with me steamed sweet potato and steanmed broccoli and some sliced strawberries and thosemelt biscuits
