Combi feeding small amounts of formula
Has anyone given a small top up of formula with expressed breast milk? Like 1oz mixed with BM
I can’t mentally or physically keep breastfeeding and want to switch to exclusive pumping but it’s going to take some time to build up bottle supply while nursing so wondering if this will help the transition (and keep him fuller).
I’ve read on exclusive pumping and lots of people recommend if you combi feed with formula to mix it with the breast milk to keep them fuller but wondering if anyone has done this and how it went?

I do this every evening so I can have a break and my partner feeds him. We make 2 bottles and use a ready made formula bottle and mix with expressed breast milk, he’s 3 weeks and we do 100 ml formula and 50 ml breast milk per bottle. Tbh not sure it keeps him fuller longer, but he feeds a lot!

With my first baby I did mix expressed milk and formula, more to progress to her taking formula as I mainly breastfed but did a bottle a day and didn't get on with expressing. But yes it was fine.
