Guilt- where does it end?

We was in my local town when I let my son walk (partner was with me) he’s 20m old and is a super confident walker and usually is a diamond. Well today we was doing a bit of Xmas shopping and he was stood near us watching Cory while we looked. Next minute you know some old man was shouting “he’s out the shop!” I legged it, he was told off but I feel awful. I don’t usually let him walk but today I did and I don’t think I will anytime soon. Some woman was really rude about it which I understand but it was so sudden. I doubt anyone has experienced this but if you have please share😔🙏🏼

Listen it’s happened and he is okay, there’s nothing you can do now, just take it as a lesson ❤️ don’t get caught up on it, being a mum is hard enough ❤️

These thing happen and it’s not your fault! Have you tried those backpacks that have reins? That way he can still walk but can’t go far because you’ll always be holding on to him? The idea isn’t for everyone but worth thinking about x

@Rosie he has some but they’re broke and he kicks off when he wears them. The one time he don’t he does this🥲 the guilt is eating me alive x

What about wrist reins? Don’t feel guilty!! Kids are so fast and full of adventure, it’s so easy done🥺xx

It is okay, things like that happen. My kid is super active too if I take my eyes off of her for 1 second she is gone. I have learned I just always have to keep her in my field of vision.

Omg no honey please ignore that silly woman! This is so easy to happen!! Those little feet are hella fast. Honestly don’t feel guilty these things happens he’s okay! x

It happened, he’s safe, nothing bad came of it - but don’t let it happen again! Will he hold your hand? Mine gets put straight back in the pram screamed if he doesn’t - he’s pretty good now. If he doesn’t hold our hand or the pram he’s not walking.

@Francesca yeah so he is usually so good but yesterday I don’t know what happened to be honest. We usually take our double (we have a 5m old too) but only took the single which is a mistake I won’t make again🥲
