Bum shuffling 🫠

My 8 month old has figured out how to bum shuffle, he pretty quick at getting himself around however I’m really concerned after reading this can delay him walking. He is trying to pull himself up on furniture. And does to prefer sitting or standing to laying down. He won’t even entertain any kind of tummy time anymore but I’m desperate for him to crawl and I’m really trying to encourage it. Should I be worried. Should he be crawling by now and not bum shuffling?

Don't worry at all! Every baby finds their own way of moving 😊 My eldest bum shuffled or wriggled like a worm for ages 😂 he was 9m when he actually crawled and 11m when he walked 😊

My little boy is a bum shuffler he is now nearly 15 months and he also mastered crawling in the past month also and does both now, he isn’t walking just yet but is super close xx

My little guy just bum shuffles everywhere he has absolutely no interest in crawling - HV said bum shuffling is perfectly fine if he never crawls xxx

Me and one of my brothers never crawled we bum shuffled and walked at 13 months. I wouldn’t worry at all every baby is different and I wouldn’t even be worried about them walking yet, some babies at my nursery crawled and didn’t walk till 18 months! X

My daughter didn’t even start bum shuffling until 13 months old, crawling at 15 months old and full on walking until 21 months old. Don’t worry about it. He just has a preference way to get himself around. I thought something was wrong with my daughter but medically there was no reason for her to be behind. She just didn’t have the confidence to do it and took her time. She would walk holding someone’s hand but if you let go she would just sit down and start to bum shuffle or crawl

A lot of babies just go straight to walking from bum shuffling, I've not experienced anyone's child delayed in walking because of it 🤷🏼‍♀️
