Solids

Anyone else's baby a late bloomer to solid foods because you're just as anxious and terrified as I am? šŸ„² We're still on pureed food with thick texture (Little Spoons brand). I've let her chew on steak whenever I make it with me holding it and have recently started the teether cookies and yogurt melts. Please tell me I'm not the only one that's baby hasn't had much when it comes to actual solid food šŸ˜‚šŸ„² She'll be 9m next Friday.

Mines 9 months Friday and weā€™re in the exact same boat. Literally just steak and purĆ©es. šŸ˜… and sheā€™s only eating half a jar of purĆ©es at a time if Iā€™m lucky

Currently 9 months old, has 7 teeth and I still refuse to let her try food. I am so scaredā€¦

Hey! I JUST started actual solid foods because of the same reason. Some foods I found that worked really well for my son are steamed zucchini and squash (finger sized cut), sliced mango (finger sliced cut), baby food pancakes, finely chopped grilled chicken. Idk if that helps you, but for me, finding a place to start was the hardest part. I found starting with the ā€œfinger sizedā€ cut foods that were soft was the best move for us. I hope this helps you out because it took me months of scrolling to finally make the transition, so donā€™t feel bad about it momma. Youā€™re not alone!

we were seen by our pediatricians student a couple days ago and she made us feel like bad parents bc we havenā€™t started anything that isnā€™t pureed. iā€™m too scared to start solids and was under the impression i could give pureed foods until one year.

Iā€™m also in the same boat! Baby is 9 months next week and I havenā€™t started giving him actual solid food. Still making purĆ©e for him but he also isnā€™t a huge fan of trying any solids. He only wants oatmeal and fruit purĆ©es šŸ™ˆ

Baby boy is nearly 10 months and we are starting to share our food, because he was soooo interested and then there was no going back! But I was the same as you, anxious about his ability to chew and swallow properly. I guess heā€™s gotta learn though right? I still only give really small or smushy food lol. I think little spoon has biteables you can try or just cut up small finger foods they can smush. Something a friend mentioned that helped my nerves was if you can hear them coughing up food - thatā€™s a good sign, choking is silent because their airway is blocked. Also, I bought a LifeVac just in case.. ha

Mine just turned 9 months and he was doing so well with solids after having a hard battle to get him there at 8 months and then just the last couple of weeks he has regressed to not eating anything other than formula. Sooooo frustrating.

Yessss

My baby just turned 10 months and sheā€™s on puree still. Doesnā€™t have much an interest in anything else. Thereā€™s so much pressure from society today that we MUST feed our baby ā€œreal foodā€ starting at 6 months and itā€™s overwhelming. Every baby is different and each goes at their own pace. So donā€™t worry mama! My generation was fed purĆ©es until past 1 and I made it here and eat very wellšŸ˜

Same boat as you! My baby boy is 9 months and still on purĆ©es, yogurt melts and baby puffs šŸ˜… he is just not starting to get his first tooth also!
