Constantly asking for more milk

My son will be 2 in January and has milk (dairy free) x2 a day since he was 13m old. These past 2 weeks he seems to be constantly asking for more milk and I'm not sure why. He has 3 meals + 2 snacks + 2 lots of milk (7-9oz each). I'll usually give him something to eat when he asks for it but then he'll remember a short while after and start asking for it again. Is his appetite just increasing (he doesnt ask for a snack just milk) or could it be that he's just starting to get the hang of using language more? On the occasion that I've given it to him he'll have a bit and leave the rest. Anyone else gone through this with their LO?

Can you try giving him some water or juice to drink instead? Maybe he's just thirsty instead of hungry.

@Rachel I initially thought that too so have been making sure his bottle is full of water. I redirect him towards the water when he asks for milk but it doesn't change anything. He's generally quite good with his water. He drinks throughout the day. Just unsure where his obsession with his milk as come from all of a sudden. 🫤

It's maybe just his favourite thing? My daughter regularly asks for chocolate coins since we first gave her one a few weeks ago. Every time there's a quiet moment it's like she remembers they exist. I've come up with a lot of excuses.

We're trying to stop our 2 year old from drinking milk at night as well & it is going quite well so far as he only asks for it 1 or 2 nights a week now before bed. It usually depends on how much he has eaten & drank during the day as well, though. I'm not really sure what to suggest, really.
