I am doing traditional weaning so i am much into purees... i started weaning just 4 days back. I gave mashed apple 2 times, mashed banana 2 times, and a mix of both once. I am planning to give mashed avacados soon(maybe tomorrow or after that)

@Mariyam same im just giving purees at the minute. What sort of portion size are you giving?

1/3rd of apple.. and becoz she liked banana so half banana... but she ate only 1/3rd of it...

We started yesterday morning, and the plan is to mainly feed her 1-2 things of what we’re eating, which are appropriate for her. It seems so much easier than having to make separate things and blend them, although we’re open to doing that too sometimes. So far she’s been given toast, scrambled egg, courgette, carrot, potato and a French fry. She’s enjoyed picking them up, feeling them with her other hand and putting them in her mouth. This evening she took a few bites of her carrot and chewed on it. No swallowing yet though. But she’s definitely enjoying it. Tomorrow she’ll likely have a slice of cucumber and some peanut butter on toast.

@Emma the food you gave your lo, do she just pick it up and play with it and maybe put in mouth but haven't ate them yet? I was hesitate to do that thinking my lo still young....maybe I could do the same

@Emma egg, french fries and toast have salt in them.. is it okay to give it? I am hesitant to give salt and sugar yet. And does your LO have teeth/tooth? Can babies chew with their gums? I would like to give some table food, but i am not sure how she'll chew.

We started last weekend and doing finger foods. My baby has no teeth but is chewing with her gums and plenty is getting through to her nappy so she is swallowing it too. We’ve done broccoli spinach peas carrots and cucumber so far

Natural yoghurt with mashed up fruit, fruit purees and vegetable purees, toast with unsalted butter, carrot puffs, rusks and porridge so far x
